About Debby

I love working at the intersection of data science and social impact, transforming complex datasets into actionable insights that drive positive change. From developing RAG chatbots for veterans to analyzing National Day Rally speeches, my work aims to bridges the gap between advanced analytics and real-world applications.

What drives me? Building solutions that matter. Whether it’s creating sign language recognition models, predicting stock market trends, or developing volunteer management systems, I believe in using data and technology to solve meaningful challenges.

My journey from communication research to data science has given me a unique perspective on how to tell compelling stories with data. When I’m not coding or analyzing datasets, you’ll find me tinkering with my next side project.

Two Halves of a Whole

My career has been a deliberate evolution. I spent the first half mastering the “Why” (Research & Strategy), and the second half mastering the “How” (Data Engineering & Architecture). This dual background allows me to build technical systems that don’t just run efficiently but directly answer the business question.

• Won the Young ESOMAR Award 2019
• Selected for exclusive 6 months secondment to HQ in Netherlands as a high-potential employee

• Conducted A/B test to optimize survey response rates by integrating principles from the Behavioural Insight Team’s EAST Framework which improved survey response rate by 13%.
